Get ready for a transformative change on the North Naples landscape as Beacon Bowl, the beloved bowling alley, is set to close its doors this August. The 2.6-acre property, located at 5400 Trail Blvd., has been acquired by local entrepreneur Phil McCabe and his family's Gulf Coast Commercial Corp. for $8 million. The site is slated for redevelopment into a luxurious 70-suite boutique hotel, promising top-tier dining experiences. The project is expected to kick off after the bowling alley's lease concludes on August 31.
Beacon Bowl, a local landmark since 1980, holds cherished memories for many, making the decision to close bittersweet. The property will not be purchased as a business; instead, the focus is on redevelopment. Phil McCabe assures the community that they are actively seeking a new location in North Naples to build a modern bowling-based entertainment center.
Adjacent to Beacon Bowl, the former St. Francis Animal Clinic property at 5380 Trail Blvd. has also been acquired by McCabe's companies for $4.3 million. The redevelopment project, aligned with the county's growth management plan, is set to begin soon after the bowling alley's closure.
The McCabes envision a two-year trajectory for the hotel project, which is slated to commence construction at the end of the summer or later this year. The boutique hotel, encompassing 70 all-suite rooms, promises an intimate and independent experience. Two or three upscale restaurants on the first floor aim to create a dining destination akin to Fifth Avenue South, minus the traffic and parking hassles. The project's third component introduces a members-only club with rooftop amenities and a lifestyle experience designed to set new standards.
While honoring the charm of independent hotels, the McCabe family is collaborating with world-renowned interior designer AvroKO and architect Smallwood, Reynolds, Stewart, Stewart & Associates Inc. The project aspires to be an iconic property in Naples, bringing architectural excellence and green spaces to the southernmost commercial section of Trail Boulevard.
As the Beacon Bowl chapter closes, a new legacy unfolds—a luxury hotel that promises to enhance the Naples experience with charm, character, and unparalleled hospitality.
