Estero Sports & Recreation Hub – September 2025 Updates

SUSAN KOSCHALK September 18, 2025

Exciting things are happening in Estero!  Construction has officially begun on the new main entrance off Via Coconut Point, which will connect the Estero Park & Recreation Center with the future Sports & Recreation Hub and the Bonita/Estero Rails to Trails (BERT) project. This visionary project is designed to become the centerpiece of sports, recreation, and community life for Estero residents and visitors alike.

Here’s what’s coming to the nearly 100-acre Village Hub:

Phase 1: High 5 Entertainment – Opening Fall 2026

The first major milestone will be the opening of High 5 Entertainment, a world-class indoor/outdoor fun destination featuring:

  • Pickleball Galore: 15 outdoor courts + 6 indoor courts for year-round play
  • Bowling Fun: 16 full-size lanes and 8 duckpin lanes
  • Mini Golf & Games: Bocce, axe throwing, immersive laser tag, and a VR arcade
  • Escape Rooms & Dining: Perfect for groups and families, with patio dining and a full-service restaurant
  • Expanded Sports Fields & Courts

The Estero Sports & Recreation Hub will cater to athletes of all ages and skill levels with:

  • Brand-new tennis, pickleball, and basketball courts
  • Flex fields for soccer, lacrosse, and multi-sport use
  • Future baseball and softball fields
  • Upgraded turf stadium with new seating and a modern scoreboard
  • Community Spaces & Trails

Beyond sports, this hub will be a gathering place for the entire community:

  • Event lawns for concerts, festivals, and community gatherings
  • Walking and biking trails connected to the Bonita/Estero Rails to Trails project
  • Plans for additional amenities like a driving range, climbing walls, and more

Timeline & Vision

The Estero Sports & Recreation Hub will be built in phases over five years, beginning with the entrance and site work already underway. The first major opening, High 5 Entertainment, is planned for Fall 2026.

This development is a major investment in the future of Estero, creating a vibrant destination for sports, recreation, and social connection right in the heart of the village.
