Bonita Springs Celebrates 25 Years with Enhanced Annual Events

SUSAN KOSCHALK August 9, 2024

The City of Bonita Springs is marking a significant milestone this year—25 years since its incorporation in 1999. To celebrate this quarter-century of community, growth, and vibrant living, the city is enhancing some of its already spectacular annual events, creating even more memorable experiences for residents and visitors alike.

Star-Spangled Bonita: A 4th of July to Remember
The festivities kicked off with an unforgettable 4th of July celebration at Star-Spangled Bonita. The day was filled with patriotic pride as the city hosted an incredible parade, followed by a concert from the popular Ben Allen Band. As the sun set, the skies over Bonita Springs lit up with a breathtaking fireworks display, culminating in an extraordinary drone show that left the crowd in awe. This year’s celebration set a new standard for Independence Day in Bonita Springs, reflecting the city’s dedication to making its 25th anniversary truly special.

Holiday in The Park: A Winter Wonderland Like Never Before
As the summer festivities wind down, the city is now turning its attention to what promises to be the most magical Holiday in The Park yet. Each December, Riverside Park transforms into a winter wonderland, with twinkling lights and holiday cheer filling the air. However, this year, in honor of its 25th anniversary, Bonita Springs is taking the holiday spirit to new heights.

Recently approved plans will see the streets of Old 41 decked out like never before. Street poles lining the historic roadway will be wrapped in festive lights, and holiday décor enhancements will brighten the medians, adding an extra layer of holiday magic to the city’s charming downtown. Miami Christmas Lights, a renowned company known for creating stunning holiday displays, has been contracted to bring this vision to life.

A Glimpse Ahead: Holiday Preparations Begin
Preparations for this year’s Holiday in The Park will begin in September, with the city working diligently to ensure everything is ready by November. The enhancements are not just about celebrating the holidays but also commemorating the spirit of Bonita Springs—a community that has grown, thrived, and come together over the past 25 years.

Whether you’re a long-time resident or a visitor experiencing Bonita Springs for the first time, this year’s celebrations promise to be something truly special. Keep an eye out as the city’s streets and parks transform into a dazzling display of lights and holiday joy, and be sure to mark your calendar for a visit to Riverside Park this holiday season.

Here’s to 25 years of Bonita Springs—a city that continues to shine brighter with each passing year!
