As temperatures rise in Southwest Florida, many locals are craving a cold milkshake or smoothie. Now, Bonita Springs resident Brian Wasko and his family are bringing a healthier alternative to the region with the expansion of Fresh Monkee, a Connecticut based smoothie and protein shake franchise focused on real ingredients and balanced nutrition.

Founded in 2014 by single mother Judy Flynn, Fresh Monkee was created with a simple mission: bring wholesome, recognizable ingredients back into smoothies and shakes. After discovering the brand in the Northeast, Wasko and his family knew it was the right fit for Southwest Florida.

The first Fresh Monkee location in Southwest Florida is already open at Coconut Point in Estero, but the expansion is just beginning. Wasko plans to open three additional locations this year in Bonita Springs, East Naples, and San Carlos Park.

Fresh Monkee stands out by eliminating additives, preservatives, and artificial colorings from its menu. Instead, the company focuses on nutrient-rich smoothies and protein shakes made with clean ingredients.

One of the brand’s most popular menu items, the Blueberry Pie Shake, features milk, vanilla protein, graham cracker, spices, blueberries, and vanilla extract. Made with unsweetened almond milk, the shake contains 29 grams of protein, 12 grams of fiber, and minimal added sugar, offering customers a more balanced treat.
