Great news for Bonita Springs residents and visitors! On February 19th, the Bonita Springs City Council unanimously approved the final design for the highly anticipated Banyan Tree Square Splash Pad. This exciting project, led by Wright Construction Group, will transform the space across from Riverside Park into a vibrant, family-friendly attraction that enhances both daytime and nighttime experiences in Downtown Bonita Springs.
A Fun & Scenic Destination
At the heart of this project is a stunning splash pad, offering kids a fun way to cool off on warm days - in the evenings, LED lighting will illuminate the water feature, creating a dazzling display that adds to the growing nightlife appeal of downtown.
Park Enhancements & Beautiful Landscaping
Beyond the splash pad, the park's entire landscape is getting a makeover! The plan includes:
✔️ A new paved walking path around the splash pad
✔️ Tropical landscaping with palm trees and vibrant plants
✔️ Colorful uplighting throughout the park
✔️ LED uplighting for the majestic Bonita Banyan Tree
✔️ New public parking & bathrooms for added convenience
What’s Next?
With the design approved, Wright Construction will now finalize the details and draft a construction bid, expected to be complete by late spring or early summer. The City of Bonita Springs has already allocated a $2.5 million budget for the project, and if everything stays on track, construction could begin as early as this fall!
